E-cigarettes and e-liquids are the perfect solution for those who are ready to stop cigarettes but want the taste sensation of cigarette smoking. Many electronic cigarettes work by providing a liquid mixture of freebase nicotine, flavouring, vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol. Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid that absorbs water and ensures your eliquid is smooth and consistent, giving the best e-cigarette experience possible for ex-smokers.
Why move to electronic cigarettes?
If you’re concerned about the cost or health effects of smoking, or if you’re ready to give up an antisocial habit but want to keep the nicotine hit that smoking delivers, e-cigarettes are the answer for you.
In addition to helping people stop smoking, ecigarettes have another benefit – you, the vaper, get to control the quantity of nicotine you experience and the flavour in which you convey it. Eliquids allow the consumer to decide exactly how their nicotine tastes – from zingy Forest Fruits to classic Menthol through almost every imaginable flavour from vanilla to coffee, e liquids really put the power in your hands.
We sell everything necessary for a successful e-cigarette experience, notably the premium Hangsen E-liquids which contain only the highest quality ingredients and a range of sophisticated flavours. Natural ingredients are a key feature of the Hangsen e liquid approach, and the highest standards of quality and safety are applied to every stage of the Hangsen E liquid production process, so that the products offered to consumers are top quality.
E-liquid flavours and varieties
There’s a stunning range of e-cigarette liquids on offer, so whether you have a sweet tooth or an adult palate, whether you like your nicotine flavour straight up or beautifully blended into a delicious and rewarding taste sensation, our shop has just what you need to find the perfect vaping experience for you.
What is PG and VG?
While the acronyms seem a little confusing at first, they help you decide exactly the best eliquid for you. Vegetable glycerine, also spelt glycerin in the USA, is known as VG while Propylene glycol is known as PG. Both are used as a base for the e-liquid. A VG base will usually have some PG in it too, as PG makes a liquid more ‘liquid-like’. Some people love the more throat-based hit of pure PG whilst others find that a VG mix with just 15-20% PG is easier to ‘smoke’ all day and has a sweeter flavour. Other considerations are the amount of vapour produced – the higher the VG content in an e-liquid blend, the more vapour it will release, so some people prefer to move to a higher PG content if they’re out in public as it makes their vapour less noticeable. In the end it’s up to each individual to find the perfect blend of VG/PG for them, and that’s a really fun journey – we’re here to help you discover the right e-liquid for you!
How to choose eliquid flavours
The variety of flavours available in e-liquid form has grown massively over the past five or six years and Hangsen has been at the forefront of design and development of eliquid technology, including eliquid flavours, to meet customer demand, which is as varied as our customers themselves!
Choosing e liquid flavours is a personal business. Most people begin by trying a vaping flavour and sensation that closely matches their traditional cigarette experience and we have a vaping guide* that specifically helps our customers discover which of our tobacco e liquid flavours approximates their old habit. But that’s only the beginning.
Obviously there are what could be considered ‘classic’ flavours: for example menthol flavours – our range runs from mint, menthol, peppermint and menthol sensation through to the popular strawberry mint. Tobacco e-liquid flavours are also well represented and range from Rainbow through to Smooth and the nutty Desert Ship to the full-flavoured and satisfying Tobacco. But for many people, it’s the sweet e liquid tastes that bring the greatest surprise and pleasure and with a variety of flavours that covers the gamut from Bubble Gum to Vanilla with everything in between, there’s bound to be a sweet surprise for each e-cigarette user.
Once people begin to experiment with e-liquids, they are delighted to discover a whole range of flavours, experiences and results are possible. Unlike traditional smoking, which offers little or no variation in taste, but rather brings a whole host of unpleasant results such as coughs, nicotine-stained skin and décor, more prominent wrinkles, yellow teeth and the more serious health risks we all know about, e-cigarettes offer satisfaction with pleasant side effects such as nicely scented breath, an attractive smoking system that can be tailored to your personal preferences and a huge variety of flavours to harmonise with your lifestyle. For example, if you’re undergoing a detox diet, maybe because you’re getting ready for a holiday, our Lemon-Lime or Blueberry e-liquids are a perfect complement to your dietary choices, as they give a fresh, fruity and healthy sensation to your day.
Alternatively, you might be heading out for a night on the town. Dressed in your best, blinged up and buffed up, you can complete your great evening with an e-liquid that offers a luxurious, rich flavour and an intense taste. Choose from drink flavoured e liquids range to bring a prestigious note to your evening’s vaping including flavours such as Mojito or Coffee flavour, and for the ultimate great night out e-liquid, we recommend Cuban, our sumptuous eliquid flavour with all the top notes, elegant mid notes and densely rewarding base notes of the best Cuban cigars.
Taking a trip? We even have e-liquids to enhance that experience. How about Mango e-liquid for a trip to Asia or Watermelon flavour to add to your Caribbean cruise? Strawberry e liquid is an amazing contribution to watching tennis (Wimbledon, anyone?) and Cola flavour is a brilliant accompaniment to touring the USA.
Finally, there are one-off flavours that might be described as ‘marmite’ types for each individual. You’ll love or hate coconut, banana and aniseed and while they don’t suit everybody they might just be your flavour of choice if you give them a try.
Basically, it’s up to you – some people quickly find a flavour they love and stick to it through thick and thin, while others love to experiment and order a different eliquid flavour every time they visit our site. There’s no rule about this: know what you like and like what you know or be an e-liquid connoisseur who has experience of every single flavour, whichever way works for you!
Which eliquid is best for me?
It’s a good question. There are several determining factors to discovering the best e-liquid for each individual.
Nicotine strength is one factor. It’s a personal matter and Hangsen offers a range of nicotine strengths from 0mg which means nicotine free, through 6mg which equates to ‘mild’ brands in terms of the sensation experienced by smokers of traditional cigarettes, 12mg and 18mg, both of which fall in the medium to high strength brand category of nicotine experiences similar to strong tobacco brands. This is a good starting point for determining which e-liquids are likely to be most satisfying for you. Nicotine levels are usually expressed as mg/ml or milligrams per millilitre.
After strength comes flavour, which we’ve already covered in depth. E-liquids come in such a wide range of flavours that there’s certain to be one, maybe quite a few, that please every e-cigarette user.
Finally, there’s volume. Hangsen e-liquids come in only one size bottle which is 10ml due to due UK TPD rules. At first you might want to try three different eliquids at 10ml each, so that you can experiment with different flavours and strengths, but once you’ve narrowed down your preferences to the flavours and strengths that really work for you, a 5 x 10ml bottle pack may be a better option, as it allows you peace of mind that you’ve got a plentiful supply of your favourite e liquid, for example over Bank holidays!
Eliquid terminology
Understanding the lingo used by e-cigarette smokers can be a little bewildering at first, but don’t despair. You don’t need to know very much to get started and a lot of the vocabulary and terminology that is used comes from those who are enthusiasts (some might say obsessives!) for the new world of ecigarettes – it’s not necessary to ever master the terminology of the cartomizer or ‘dripping’ unless you want to!
Here’s a basic guide to the language you might here online or in person so that you can navigate your way through this amazing new experience.
Atomizer
Aka Atomiser, known as Atty for short. This device is the heating component of an electronic cigarette. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Then there’s all the rest of the information: usually an atomizer consists of a heating element that actually turns the e-liquid into vapour and a wicking system that holds the liquid until its vapourised. The atomizer has a significant impact on the quality, delivery and consistency of the vapour that the consumer inhales. Resistance in the atomizer varies between 1.5 and 3.0 ohms which can contribute to the end user experience. The lower the ohm the higher the resistance which results in faster heating.
Battery
This supplies the power to the atomiser (or atomizer) which vaporises (or vaporizes) the e-liquid. Some batteries are activated manually with a button, some are triggered by sensor that recognises an inhalation as a signal to trigger vaporisation. Some batteries are built in, some can be removed. There are a few forms of e-cigarette that have disposable systems but usually batteries will need to be recharged which is why many e-cigarette retailers now have a double battery kit on offer, so one can be charging while the other is in use, which prevents the annoying situation of having no charged battery to use! Battery life can be variable according to the system you’ve chosen and the amount of vaping you do. Most batteries are lithium and will decline in performance over time, although there are things you can do to address this, such as ensuring that you charge new batteries for at least 8 hours before first use, unplugging batteries after they have charged to ensure they don’t overcharge which can reduce battery life and disconnecting the battery from the unit overnight as the standby function can drain the battery’s power and – over time – its useful life.
Cartomizer
So, we’ve talked about atomizers. The cartomizer is an alternative. It is a hybrid of the atomizer and the cartridge that holds the e-liquid into one vessel. Some vapers prefer this system, saying that its great volume makes it more convenient as it requires less filling. Some prefer the three piece battery, atomizer and tank system as it can be more slim-line and also allows for a quicker change of flavour if that’s important to the vaper. Either way is good and many vapers experiment a little before finding the delivery system that works for them. Indeed some, like those on the road for long periods, swap between atomizers for non-driving and cartomizers for driving as an example of making the e-cigarette experience work well in all areas of daily life. A cartomizer may be called a ‘carto’ for short.
Cartridge
Also called a tank or ‘cart’ for short, this is the element of an e cigarette that holds the chosen eliquid before vaporisation. Some cartridges are refillable, others are pre-filled by the vendor. Our e-liquids work with a refillable cartridge.
Coil
This is the equivalent of the element in your household kettle, it heats up and produced the vapour or vapour which is then inhaled.
Dripping
Okay, we said you didn’t need to know this, but here goes … some people say that ‘dripping’ the e-liquid straight onto the atomizer gives a bigger ‘hit’ with more vapour. It can be used in place of a cartridge. It cannot be done with all e-cigarettes and virtually every e-liquid is designed for cartridge use rather than dripping. It’s a matter of personal taste.
Electronic Cigarette
Known in a variety of ways as an electronic cigarette, e-cigarette, e-cig, or vaporiser or vaporizer, smokeless cigarette. This is the device, which runs on a battery, to deliver the nicotine/flavour solution in a vapour (or vapour for those in the USA) to the consumer. The least used terminology for an electronic cigarette is Electronic Nicotine Delivery System (ENDS) although this is the one phrase that is always used in electronic cigarette patents as it defines the actual function of the device.
ECF
This stands for Electronic Cigarette Forum. There are many such forums around the world and they contain loads of history, mystery, jokes, hints, tips and tricks for getting the most from your e-cigarette experience.
E-Liquid
What we’re all about! There are so many names for e-liquid: e liquid, e-juice, smoke juice or just juice or liquid. This is the (usually but not always) nicotine based solution that is vaporised. Most if not all e-liquids contain a blend of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, nicotine, and flavour. Available in many flavours, strengths and varieties, we sell Hangsen E-liquids because we have confidence in their quality control, consistency and the customer satisfaction their e liquids give our customers.
Flooding
Flooding is what happens when excess e-liquid is applied to an atomizer. For correct vaporisation an atomizer needs air plus liquid, so too much e liquid can lead to a decrease in vapour production.
Mouthpiece
This is the component of an electronic cigarette that corresponds to the butt on a traditional cigarette and is another replaceable part of the whole system.
Propylene Glycol
Also known as Prop, and PG, this is a base ingredient in e-liquid blends, it is used to stabilise the flavouring.
Starter Kit
A starter kit is the complete system that most new vapers purchase to begin their e-cigarette experience. Finding the best electronic cigarette can be a case of trial and error and while many find a starter kit meets their initial needs, many e cigarette users find they wish to customise their vaping experience in a number of ways. The best e cig system for you is the one that you personalise for your own use and this can mean anything from experimenting with flavours to changing your tank size through to considering whether an atomizer or cartomizer is best designed to meet your personal requirements.
Vegetable Glycerine
Also known as Vegetable Glycerin or VG. This is a further base component of e-liquid blends and while it does not convey flavouring as well as Propylene Glycol it is used to provide more vapour whilst muting or softening the actual flavour base.
